The FABBA Show Quartet

SOGO Musicians Out Jammin’ Olympia (MOJO) is the name of our chamber ensemble group. Musicians of any age or skill level are encouraged to participate in this unique program offered by SOGO. Mary Jo Rydholm, MOJO Coordinator, is an accomplished violin player and has dedicated much of her playing career to chamber ensemble playing. She has a vast knowledge and library of chamber music.

SOGO MOJO is a great opportunity for young musicians to play chamber music in small ensembles (duos, trios, quartets) and be coached by a chamber music specialist. Performing in MOJO ensembles develops a musician’s communication skills, musical ownership and technique, and builds self-confidence, furthering the development of well-rounded musicians and students.

Students enrolled in MOJO receive at least 6 hour-long coachings per concert-cycle tailored to each member’s level. The coachings prepare members for performances in the community, including MOJO concerts and external opportunities!

Ensembles of 3 – 6 musicians each are being formed with interested members from Debut, Academy, Philharmonic, and Conservatory Orchestras, to prepare for performances in our community. SOGO MOJO ensembles have a tradition of being chosen for special and prestigious events! Past venues include the 2009 inauguration of Randall Dorn as Superintendent of Public Schools, Lacey and Tumwater City Councils, the 2013 Washington State Governor’s Inaugural Ball, the Washington Center’s”Tribute to ABBA” Concert, King 5 television, later this week, the Arts and Crafts Festival at Ocean Shores!

Rehearsal times: Rehearsal times this year are going to be determined by the members of each ensemble. Some ensembles will still be able to meet on Sundays around their large orchestra group schedule. Other ensembles will decide among the members on a different rehearsal day.
