PLACEMENT AUDITIONS 2020-2021 SEASON
August 24, 2020
All auditions will be held remotely via ZOOM.
New and all current members seeking to participate in the 2020-2021 season must audition for placement.
Musicians are asked to perform a solo or etude of their choice, and sight-read (there will no longer be a music theory test). Those interested in joining the Conservatory Orchestra must also prepare the Audition Excerpt.
Plan 15 minutes for the placement audition.
- Placement audition fee: $35.00 or pay what you can during the COVID-19 hardship (normally this is a nonrefundable fee, but if SOGO has to postpone the season indefinitely this fee is refundable).
- Tuition fee: Debut $450, Academy $475, Conservatory $550 and is due on or before the last Sunday of August. Tuition can be paid by cash, check or credit card. Tuition may be reduced or refunded if our season is substantially impacted by COVID-19.
- Financial support: Let us know if you are experiencing financial challenges due to COVID-19 and we will work with you to find a solution. Payment plans can be worked out by contacting SOGO at firstname.lastname@example.org and limited financial scholarships are available for 50% of tuition. Additional options may also be available.
- Goldberg Merit Scholarship: The Goldberg Family Charitable Foundation has generously provided a Merit Scholarship to encourage young musicians for their hard work and commitment to the study of music through SOGO. This is a 50% one-time scholarship. Learn more.
