SUMMARY:Fall Concert 2025
DESCRIPTION:SOGO’s season opener promises an exciting mix of talent\, tradition\, and a few surprises. Featured guest and SOGO alumnus Henry Nordhorn returns to the stage with the Conservatory Orchestra and Brass Choir\, performing works by Gershwin and Mozart on French horn. A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory and now a member of the Spokane Symphony\, Henry brings his artistry full circle. Audiences will also enjoy Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain\, and Danzas Cubanas\, a vibrant new piece by American composer Robert Sheldon. \nThe Philharmonic and Academy orchestras round out the program with a dynamic mix of classic and contemporary selections. And to kick off the evening—you might just find yourself part of the performance!

SUMMARY:Winter Concert 2026
DESCRIPTION:SOGO’s winter concert shines a spotlight on Olympia Symphony Principal Cellist Holly Reeves\, a longtime friend of SOGO and an influential mentor to generations of young cellists across the region. Many of her students are past or present members of SOGO. Holly joins the Conservatory Orchestra for a movement from Grażyna Bacewicz’s Concerto No. 1 for Cello and Orchestra. The program also features the evocative Spanish themes of Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1\, the charming Allegro in Waltz by SOGO flutist and composer Karina Bone of Montesano\, and Balmages’ lively (UP)LIFTED. \nRounding out the concert\, the Philharmonic and Academy Orchestras and Brass Choir will impress with their vibrant interpretations of both timeless favorites and bold contemporary works.

SUMMARY:Spring Concert 2026
DESCRIPTION:SOGO’s spring concert marks the powerful finale of its 26th season and the culmination of Paths to Dignity—a year-long project to build meaningful connections between homeless advocacy groups and cultural organizations. SOGO alumnus Dillon Welch\, now performing with the Louisville Orchestra\, returns to play Shelter for My Child\, the poignant third movement of Lucas Richman’s Violin Concerto: Paths to Dignity. Also taking the stage is SOGO alumnus and jazz vocalist Elliot Weeks\, sharing his soulful rendition of What a Wonderful World. The Conservatory Orchestra will close the season with the vibrant Rákóczi March by Hector Berlioz.  \nThe Philharmonic and Academy Orchestras\, along with the Brass Choir\, will complete the program with expressive performances of classical gems and adventurous contemporary works.
